The bullion supply of from Switzerland has been interrupted because three of the five Swiss refineries are based in Ticino, the canton which saw the most coronavirus cases in the country. Currently, Switzerland refines around 70 percent of all the gold mined worldwide. Gold is also not so reliable as a safe haven at the moment, as its value dropped by 7 percent compared to last month.
