On June 26th, the Chinese embassy in Switzerland organized a networking event in Geneva (additional events in other cities are planned) and invited 19 selected CEOs. During this event, ambassador Geng Wenbing told the astonished CEOs that China’s processing industry will “open its doors to Swiss companies”. The message was clear, Swiss companies investing in China can now count on privileged relations with the government and it will be easier for them to purchase Chinese companies.
Christophe Weber, President of the Board of the French-speaking section of the Swiss-Chinese Chamber of Commerce, commented, that he didn’t hear the Chinese saying something like this during the last ten years.
