Last week, Swisscom switched on its 5G mobile network; it is the first Swiss mobile company to do so. The network went live across 102 locations around the country.
The first Swiss 5G smartphone will be from the Chinese smartphone giant Oppo and become available from May on. More smartphones then follow from companies such as LG, Samsung and Huawei.
Unfortunately, it is still unclear whether those antennas have negative effects on human health. Consequently, the cantons Vaud, Geneva and Jura decided to freeze the construction of 5G antennas until the Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN) deems them as safe.
