The Jing-Jin-Ji project (also known as “Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Integration Plan” or “capital economy circle”) aims to create a gigantic megacity that includes Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei Province. Jing-Jin-Ji will be made up of over 100 million people (three times that of the Tokio megapolis) and its GDP shall account for 10 percent of China’s total GDP, with a region twice the size of Korea.
A key of the Jing-Jin-Ji project is that different regions focus on specific advantages, to avoid duplication. The regions shall instead complement each other and focus their synergies.
