With the growing middle class in China, more and more people travel by plane. Last year, 95.8 million passengers travelled over Beijing Capital Airport, almost as many as on the Atlanta International Airport, which is currently the worlds’ busiest airport.
To cope with its growing numbers of flyers, Beijing now builds a 12.9 billion US dollar mega airport in its suburbs (scheduled to open next year). It is also estimated that China will overtake the US as the biggest air travel market in 2022.
