The RCEP (Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership) is a free trade agreement signed between 15 Asia-Pacific nations such as China, Japan, Vietnam, Australia. The agreement reduces customs tariffs and establishes common trade rules. Whether the RCEP is good or bad for Switzerland is unclear: On one hand, Switzerland is not part of the agreement, making Swiss companies less competitive in the Asia-Pacific market. On the other hand, the RCEP could benefit Switzerland because it could lead to more export opportunities, and companies with subsidiaries in China will have better access to RCEP markets.
