The Swiss Ambassador to China, Bernardino Regazzoni, also commented on the anniversary and gave a positive outlook for the future of the diplomatic ties between the two countries.

Chinese-Swiss relations have mostly been excellent. Switzerland, for example, was one of the first western countries to officially recognize the People’s Republic of China, and China is now Switzerland’s third-biggest trade partner. The countries plan to expand their cooperation in the future.
