Nestlé is expanding its operational presence in China with investments in two production facilities located in Tianjin: a pet food plant and a facility for vegan food. The investments will total CHF 100 million.
The vegan production facility will be Nestle’s first of its kind in Asia. Vegan food is becoming increasingly popular in China, this is due to several reasons, such as the Sino-U.S. trade war, the swine fever virus, and also the coronavirus which might have originated from wild animals.
