Richemont is joining the AACA, Alibaba’s Anti-Counterfeiting Alliance, to team up with the Chinese firm for intellectual property efforts.
The AACA was created as a way for Alibaba to work with brands so that they can protect IP across its platforms. AACA members collaborate in six key areas: proactive online monitoring and protection, a product test-buy program, offline investigations and enforcement actions, industry-law enforcement workshops, litigation tactics, and public awareness campaigns. The platform has been established in 2017 and now includes 115 partners, including Adidas, Estee Lauder, Levi’s, L’Oreal, Luxottica and Ralph Lauren.
