How welcomed are Chinese investors in Switzerland?

In the past few years, acquisitions of foreign firms by Chinese enterprises increased dramatically worldwide (at least for some time). Chinese investors were generally welcomed, as they follow a longterm strategy and thus often make very competitive offers. But the acquisitions also sparked fears and many countries responded with protectionist measures.

Switzerland, which is a famous target for Chinese investors, is still very open for foreign investments, thanks to its liberal share and takeover law. But there are also discussions on whether the country should protect key technologies and strategically important companies (e.g. banks or telecommunications).  Traditionally, the Swiss government applies rather a laissez-fair principle though, in addition, the country is small and because of this simply needs to open its market, so it looks like Chinese investors will also be welcomed here in the future.
